Simon Webster takes BHRC Rally championship

Congratulations to Green Valley owner Simon Webster and his navigator Jez Rogers after they were confirmed as BHRC champions this weekend at the final round of the FUCHS LUBRICANTS Motorsport UK British Historic Rally Championship.

The championship was wide open before a challenging 11 miles night stage in Yorkshire kicked off the rally on Friday evening with the teams main competitors Stanley Orr and Grahame Henderson needing to finish above Simon and Jez to have any chance of taking the title.

Orr was fast on the night stage and as the competitors took to the starting line on a very wet Saturday morning everything was still to play for. Continuing his form into Cropton and Gale Rigg, Orr took a small lead but as the teams headed into the final stage he still needed to finish several places above Simon in order to take the title.

As things happened Simon, under immense pressure powered back in the final Dalby stage to arrive at the finish in Filey over four seconds up on his rival and secure his position as the 2019 BHRC champion.

You can watch a short interview with the winning team below.
