Physical Tests carried out include:
- ADR Regulated Internal pressure (Hydraulic) test.
- The can is fully filled, and the pressure inside the can increased to 2.5 Bar and monitored for 5 minutes with no air leaks.
- ADR Regulated Leak proofness test (Leak Proof) test.
- The Can is fully submerged in a tank of water and the pressure inside increased to 0.3 Bar and monitored for 5 minutes with no leaks.
- Drop tested from a height of 1.8 meters.
- Handles are also drop-tested from 0.8 metres.

Please be aware that the leak-proof Bayonet mechanism on our Steel Fuel Cans has been engineered to fastened tightly around the neck of the can and therefore may initially require heavy handling to release the cap. After the first few uses, the mechanism will ease as the air vacuum created inside the can escapes. Not my first Wavian can so the quality is no surprise, this one is as good as ever. The one thing that prevented a 5* review was packaging. The box was dropped off before I had chance to get to the door so I was dismayed to find the box in tatters and expected the worst. Fortunately and amazingly, all items in the shipment were fine, which I couldn’t believe as the box was ripped to hell, to the extent that the contents were on full view. A plastic can which was also included was a bit scuffed up but not enough to go to the hassle of having replaced. So maybe packaging needs to be more substantial in future.
